  • QU Rolls To Win Against Brown Behind Smith's Hat Trick, Shortridge's Shutout

    HAMDEN, Conn. – Landon Smith's natural hat trick and Andrew Shortridge's first shutout of the season powered the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team to a 5-0 win against Brown at the Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The win snaps a four-game skid for Quinnipiac as they improve to 4-5-1 overall and 1-4-0 in league play. Brown drops to 2-5-0 overall and in ECAC Hockey action.

    TROY, N.Y. – Sophomore goaltender Cale Morris made 38 saves to lead the fourth-ranked University of Notre Dame men's hockey team to a 4-1 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Friday night at the Houston Field House. With the win, the Fighting Irish improve to 9-3-1 overall, while the Engineers drop to 2-6-3.

    Jacob Pritchard put the Saints on the board late in the third period with his team-leading fifth goal of the season, but the St. Lawrence men's hockey team fell to No. 5/6 Cornell, 6-1, on Friday night in Ithaca, New York.

    PRINCETON, NJ – The Princeton power play was extremely effective tonight in an ECAC Hockey contest at Baker Rink. The Tigers, despite goals from four different Yale skaters and a late surge, scored on three of their eight advantages on the way to a 5-4 win.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 2-2-1 (1-2-1 ECAC Hockey), while the Engineers drop to 2-5-3 (1-4-1 ECAC Hockey).

    ITHACA, N.Y. — Junior forward Anthony Angello and Mitch Vanderlaan each had a goal and an assist, and the men's hockey team rolled to a 3-0 blanking of Dartmouth on Friday night at Lynah Rink. Freshman Matthew Galajda made 16 saves for his second shutout in just five collegiate starts, and the Big Red improved to 5-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

It was almost like deja vu of the quarterfinals, both one-goal games last year in the ECAC quarterfinals with Princeton's season ending in OT on a penalty shot. This time the Tigers will see another day as they look to rebound at Rensselaer on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
