  • NCAA Recognizes Five League Members

    ALBANY, N.Y. – Five League teams -- Brown, Colgate, Rensselaer, St. Lawrence and Yale -- are among nearly 800 Division I sports teams recognized for top academic performance as part of the NCAA’s academic reform program. In total, eight Division I men’s hockey programs were recognized.
  • 2008-09 All-Academic Team Announced

    ALBANY, N.Y. - One hundred seventy student-athletes representing the ECAC Hockey’s 12 men’s programs were named to the 2008-09 ECAC Hockey All-Academic team. Ninety-one of this year’s student-athletes were also named to the team last year and 44 have the distinction of receiving the honor the last three seasons. Of the 12 institutions, Brown leads the way with 24 honorees, followed by Rensselaer with 19, and Quinnipiac with 17.
  • Three League Teams Remain in Poll

    ALBANY, N.Y. -- Cornell, Yale and Princeton each garnered top-15 positions in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll, which was released Monday. All three teams earned the right to play in NCAA Regional action last weekend.

    ALBANY, N.Y. -- The field for the NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Championship has been set for play which begins next weekend (3/27-3/29). Three ECAC Hockey teams that have been featured in national polls throughout the season are part of the elite group. The 2009 ECAC Hockey regular-season and tournament champion Yale Bulldogs, the Cornell Big Red and the Princeton Tigers will play for the right to earn a trip to the Frozen Four in Washington D.C. as part of the nation's top 16 teams.

    The Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation on Thursday announced the top 10 candidates for the 2009 Hobey Baker Award, presented by Mazamba, honoring college hockey's top player. The finalists include Colgate forward David McIntyre and Princeton goaltender Zane Kalemba.
  • ECAC Hockey Partners with NHL Network & Time Warner

    ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey announced today that it has partnered with the National Hockey League (NHL) Network and Time Warner Syracuse to televise its 2009 ECAC Hockey Championship semifinals and final March 20-21 at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. The partnership provides for the games to be broadcast in both the United States and Canada.
