    ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey today announced the finalists for the 2011-12 Men’s Player of the Year Award. Danny Biega, Harvard and Austin Smith from Colgate have each been selected as finalists for the honor by the League’s coaches.

    ALBANY, N.Y. - In typical ECAC Hockey postseason fashion, three of the four Game One match-ups in the quarterfinals produced one-goal victories, while the fourth contest resulted in a two-goal win. Three of the home teams - Union, Cornell, and Colgate skated to wins, while the lone road team to post a win was Yale in overtime over rival Harvard.

Nationally-ranked Cornell and Union continue their hot play as they posted solid road wins, while Harvard and Colgate skated to a hard fought overtime tie at Starr Rink. Rensselaer earned its second league win of the season, both shutouts of Brown.

    ALBANY, N.Y. - All 12 ECAC Hockey men’s teams are in action this busy weekend highlighted by some fierce rivalries, an outdoor game played at a one of baseball’s most storied parks, which has Harvard playing host to Union, and Quinnipiac looking to jump to the top spot in the league standings as it hosts nationally-ranked Cornell and Colgate. Two intra-state battles will take place this weekend when Dartmouth meets New Hampshire for the Battle of the RiverStone Cup and when Harvard faces-off against cross-town rival Boston University. The main league rivalry on tap this weekend pits Rensselaer visiting Capital Region foe Union Saturday evening.

    ALBANY, N.Y. - All but one of the seven games last evening involving ECAC Hockey teams was decided by one goal or fewer. Five of the games were tight finishes and decided by one goal, while another ended in an overtime tie. The game which was not as close, turned out to be a two-goal win by league-leading Cornell in non-league action against top ten foe Colorado College.
