    Albany, N.Y.— Five ECAC Hockey teams are in action this weekend getting thrown into the fire with early season showdowns. No. 14 Quinnipiac travels to Conte Forum to face No. 13 Boston College on Friday then host No. 2 Boston University on Sunday for its home opener at TD Bank Sports Center. Colgate welcomes Merrimack for a two-game set at the Class of 1965 Arena, while No. 16 Union skates in the 21st annual Ice Breaker Tournament at AMSOIL Arena against Michigan Tech in opening round. North Country partners, Clarkson and St. Lawrence, each welcome Big Ten foes No. 10 Penn State and Michigan.

    ALBANY, N.Y. -- Defending ECAC Men’s Hockey (@ecachockeyMWD1) co-regular-season and league tournament champions Harvard was selected atop in the 2017-18 ECAC Hockey Men’s Coaches’ Preseason Poll with 119 points, earning a league-high nine first-place votes. The Crimson are coming off a banner season, where they registered a 28-6-2 overall record, capturing their first Beanpot Championship since 1993 and advancing to the Frozen Four for the first time since 1994.

  • 2016-17 All-Academic Team Comprises 248 Student-Athletes

    ALBANY, N.Y. - Two hundred and fifty-eight student-athletes representing the ECAC Hockey’s (@ecachockeyMWD1) 12 men’s programs were named to the 2016-17 ECAC Hockey All-Academic team. One hundred and fifty-nine of this year’s student-athletes were also named to the team last year, eighty-nine have the distinction of receiving the honor the last three seasons, and thirty-two received the recognition over the last four years. Of the 12 institutions, Harvard led the way with 27 honorees, followed by Brown with 26, Dartmouth with 25, then Yale with 24. Players are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters. One student-athlete from each institution was honored on the Commissioner’s List showcasing each program’s top scholar from the 2016-17 season.
