League Announces Mandi Schwartz Scholar-Athlete Nominees

12 Student-Athletes from Each School Represent Top Scholar-Athletes

DANBURY, CONN. — ECAC Hockey and its member institutions have announced nominees for the 2026 Mandi Schwartz Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. One student-athlete from each program has been honored as a nominee.

The Mandi Schwartz Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to an ECAC Hockey female athlete in honor of the late Mandi Schwartz, a Yale women’s ice hockey alum who passed away in April 2011, and is awarded to the ECAC Hockey student-athlete who most embodies Mandi Schwartz’s excellence and leadership on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community.

In 2025, Union defender Maren Friday was presented with the honor for her efforts on and off the ice and in Schenectady.

This year's ECAC Hockey Mandi Schwartz Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be announced on Monday, February 16, with the winner being recognized at their final regular season home contest.
