The WHCA National Rookie of the Month for January is Princeton’s Sarah Fillier (Georgetown, Ont.). The freshman led the nation in average scoring in January, recording 2.80 points-per-game during the Tigers’ five games this month.

Fillier finished the month with 14 points (6G, 8A), registering multiple points in every game she took the ice. She helped Princeton to a 4-0-1 record in the month, winning 71 face-offs and recording a +9 on-ice rating. Her best game of thee month came in a top-five matchup against Cornell, when Fillier registered four points on two goals and two assists, lifting her team to a 5-0 win.

In just her rookie season, Fillier is ranked second in the nation in scoring, averaging 2.00 points-per-game. She’s the leading scorer on her team, which is enjoying its highest ranking in program history, currently coming in at No. 5 in both national polls.
