CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Gabrielle David (Clarkson), Allyson Simpson (Colgate), Logan Angers (Quinnipiac), and Madison Chantler (Quinnipiac) for the week of play ending October 15, 2022.
Forward of the Week
Gabrielle David (Sr., Clarkson) had herself a weekend. On Friday, she assisted on three of the Golden Knights’ most pivotal goals, including Anne Cherkowski’s power play game-winner in the first of two weekend contests against Syracuse. David played a role in all three of the Golden Knights’ goals in Saturday’s win over the Orange, scoring two herself (including the go-ahead game-winner two minutes into the third period) and assisting on Cherkowski’s first period goal.
Defender of the Week
Allyson Simpson (Sr., Colgate) earns back-to-back Defender of the Week honors after another impressive performance against RIT. En route to two shutouts of the Tigers, Simpson blocked one shot and had three assists from the blue line, lending helpers on two of Kalty Kaltounková’s three goals on Friday and notching the sole assist on Danielle Serdachny’s first period goal on Saturday.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Logan Angers (Gr., Quinnipiac) returned to Hamden with her fourth win of the season, helping keep the Bobcats undefeated through their first seven games. She made 21 saves through sixty minutes against in-conference foe Harvard, allowing just two goals and finishing the contest with a .921 save percentage.
Rookie of the Week
Forward Madison Chantler (Fr., Quinnipiac) earns her second weekly award of the season after a single-game performance against Harvard. Chantler got on the board just under eight minutes into the first period, scoring an even strength goal that would stand as the game-winner. She finished the contest with four shots and a +2 rating after her goal and contribution to the play that resulted in Shay Maloney’s second period goal.
