Buhr, Bergsland, Schwartz, and Zacher claim first ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards of February

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men’s weekly award winners for the week ending on February 10th, 2025: Brandon Buhr (Jr., Union), Tommy Bergsland (Sr., Colgate), Aaron Schwartz (Fr., Quinnipiac), and Lawton Zacher (So., Brown).

Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels 
Brandon Buhr (Jr., Union) earns the Forward of the Week honors, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The North Vancouver, British Columbia native accumulated four points this weekend, including a hat trick on Saturday at Lynah Rink. The former Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL) forward has two hat tricks since January 1. 

Defender of the Week
Tommy Bergsland (Sr., Colgate) has been named the ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week. The former Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) blueliner scored two goals and one assist in Hamilton against Union and RPI. The Wayzata, Minn. native is already starting February on a high note with five points in three games this month.

#Bitcoin Rookie of the Week
Aaron Schwartz (Fr., Quinnipiac) earns Bitcoin Rookie of the Week. The Parkland, Fla. native finished the weekend with one goal and three assists at home against St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The former Surrey Eagles (BCHL) forward has had a phenomenal rookie season, tied for the most points in the ECAC amongst rookies with 24.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Lawton Zacher (So., Brown), the sophomore goaltender from Buffalo, N.Y., has been named the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. The former Minot Minotaur (NAHL) netminder earned two wins against travel partner and Ivy league rival Yale, accumulating a .966 save percentage and a combined 57 saves. Zacher leads the ECAC in overall save percentage (.934) and GAA (2.05) this season.
