DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men’s weekly award winners for the week ending on February 3rd, 2025: Jack Ricketts (Gr., Quinnipiac), David Ma (Sr., Princeton), Brian Nicholas (Fr., Brown), and Andrew Takacs (Jr., Colgate).
Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Jack Ricketts (Gr., Quinnipiac) earns the Forward of the Week honors, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Oakville, Ontario native scored a Hattrick in the Bobcats lone game this weekend against the Dartmouth Big Green. His third goal was the overtime winner less than a minute into the extra frame. The former Oakville Blades (OJHL) forward ranks first on the team in goals (14), leading the Bobcats to wins in six out of their last eight.
Defender of the Week
David Ma (Sr., Princeton) has been named the ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week. The 2021 Clark Cup champion with the Chicago Steel (USHL) scored one goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win against Harvard. The Yonkers, N.Y. native reached a new single-game career high, scoring three points on Friday night.
#Bitcoin Rookie of the Week
Brian Nicholas (Fr., Brown) earns Bitcoin Rookie of the Week. The Scarsdale, N.Y. native finished the weekend with three goals and one assist in a 6-5 win over the RPI Engineers. The former Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) forward has had a phenomenal rookie season with 21 points, the most for any Bear player this season.
MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Andrew Takacs (Jr., Colgate), the junior goaltender from Bowie, Md., has been named the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. The former New Jersey Titans (NAHL) netminder earned two wins in the north country, accumulating a .985 save percentage and a shutout against #20 Clarkson. Takacs and the Raiders prepare for Union and RPI on Friday and Saturday, riding some momentum and winning four of the last five.
