Clarkson's Ayrton Martino Wins Player of the Year for 2024-25 Season

DANBURY, CONN. — ECAC Hockey is proud to name Clarkson’s Ayrton Martino as the recipient of the Player of the Year Award for the 2024-25 season, as announced on Thursday night at the awards ceremony in Lake Placid, New York.

The finalists for the award were CJ Foley (Dartmouth) and Trey Taylor (Clarkson).

In 22 conference games, Martino led the league with 21 goals and added 17 assists for an incredible 38-point season. Seven of the senior’s goals were game-winners, and another three came as a hat trick. Averaging 1.73 points per game and ending the season with an impressive +18 rating overall (2nd in ECAC), Martino found himself at the top of most league stats throughout the season. He helped the Golden Knights secure second place in the regular season.

The Toronto, Ontario native also earned Bluebird Hotels Forward of the Week honors three times and two consecutive Forward of the Month honors. He was also named a 2025 Hobey Baker nominee.

Clarkson will face Dartmouth in the semifinals on Friday, March 21, at 7:00 PM at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York
