DANBURY, CONN. — ECAC Hockey is proud to announce Clarkson’s Trey Taylor as the recipient of the Howie’s Best Defensive Defenseman for the 2024-25 season, as announced on Thursday night at the awards ceremony in Lake Placid, New York.
The finalists for this award were Tommy Bergsland (Colgate) and Alex Pineau (Brown).
The junior captain for the Golden Knights had a huge season, scoring 6 goals and 12 assists. He ended the season as Clarkson’s top scoring defenseman, with half of Taylor’s goals being converted power play opportunities. In front of the net, he ended the season 6th in the ECAC with 38 blocked shots.
Taylor also earned Defender of the Month for February and was named a 2025 Hobey Baker nominee.
Clarkson will face Dartmouth in the semifinals on Friday, March 21, at 7:00 PM at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York
