DANBURY, CONN. – As the opening round began, No. 12 Union upset No. 5 Clarkson at Cheel Arena, earning its second-ever victory against the Golden Knights in program history to advance to the quarterfinals to face No. 1 Yale. No. 6 Colgate defeated No. 11 RPI, 4–2, to advance to the quarterfinals and face No. 4 Cornell.
