Women's Weekend Wraparound - 2.20-2.21

Opening Round is Completed with Major Upsets

DANBURY, CONN. – The opening round delivered multiple upsets and high-scoring performances as teams battled for spots in the ECAC quarterfinals. No. 12 Union stunned No. 5 Clarkson at Cheel Arena, earning just its second-ever victory over Clarkson in program history. With the upset, Union advances to face top-seeded Yale Bulldogs in the quarterfinals. No. 6 Colgate defeated No. 11 RPI, 4–2, to punch its ticket to a quarterfinal matchup against No. 4 Cornell. The following day, No. 7 Brown rolled past No. 10 Dartmouth, 7–2, setting up a quarterfinal clash with No. 3 Quinnipiac Bobcats. In the final opening-round game, No. 8 Harvard and No. 9 St. Lawrence went into overtime, where Crimson netted the game-winner to advance and face No. 2 Princeton in the quarterfinals.
