DANBURY, CONN. –  No. 8 Clarkson and No. 9 RPI were in a tight 1-1 race until Clarkson found the back of the net at 15:16 in the third period, and will face the No. 1 Quinnipiac Bobcats in the quarterfinals. No. 6 Harvard and No. 11 St. Lawrence battled to a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation, pushing overtime. It was not until the last two minutes that the Crimson buried it to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals to face No. 3 Cornell. The next day No. 5 Union ran up the scoreboard 9-0 over No. 12 Brown to hit the road to New Jersey where they will face No. 4 Princeton. In the final opening-round game, No. 7 Colgate defeated No. 10 Yale 3-2 and will face No. 2 Dartmouth in the quarterfinals.
