CALGARY, A.B. – Hockey Canada announced the roster for Canada’s National Women’s Development Team selection camp taking place August 3-8 at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, B.C.
40 players, 11 of those representing ECAC Hockey, have been invited to selection camp. Colgate had the most of all league institutions, with 3 players heading to Richmond, while 6 of 12 ECAC institutions sent at least one player to the camp. Hockey Canada will announce their roster on August 9 and will play a three-game series against the United States August 12-15 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Five individuals with ECAC Hockey ties will represent the league behind the bench. Dartmouth alum Cherie Piper (2007) is the Senior Manager, Scouting & Player Development of Hockey Canada. Matt Desrosiers (Clarkson Head Coach and St. Lawrence Alum) is an assistant coach of Canada’s Women’s Development Team. Clarkson alum Carlee Campbell (2010) will serve as Video Coach. Union alum Stefanie Thomson (2014) will serve as a coach during selection camp. St. Lawrence alum Alison Domenico (2009) will be an assistant coach for Hockey Canada’s U18 Women’s Development Team.
