Nick Sczerbinski is the Associate Commissioner for ECAC Hockey, a role he assumed in July 2022.
In this executive capacity, he directs the conference’s overarching brand strategy, digital media operations, and public relations initiatives, maximizing exposure for one of college hockey's premier conferences. Nick brings over a decade of athletic communications and sports marketing experience to ECAC hockey.
He previously spent six years elevating the athletic brand at Quinnipiac University, serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications from 2018 to 2022. In this role, he led strategic media relations and publicity for the university's Division I programs. He initially returned to his alma mater in 2016 as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, driving community involvement and corporate partner activations.
His foundational career includes serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Emmanuel College (MA) and as a Media Relations Assistant for the University of Rhode Island, where he acted as the primary media contact for multiple sports programs. Nick also gained valuable sports media experience early in his career as a Stats Associate with ESPN’s Stats & Information Group in Bristol, Connecticut.
A native of Cranston, Rhode Island, Nick graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sports Studies. He later earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Quinnipiac in 2020. He resides in Wallingford, Connecticut, with his wife, Katie, and their daughter.
