Martino, Belpedio, Perets, Donaldson Claim Weekly Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s weekly award winners, honoring Ayrton Martino (Clarkson), Nic Belpedio (Colgate), Yaniv Perets (Quinnipiac), and Sean Donaldson (Cornell) for the week of play ending November 19, 2022.

Forward of the Week

Ayrton Martino (So., Clarkson) had one goal and three assists this weekend en route to the Golden Knights’ sweep of Arizona State. On Friday, Martino had an assist on the third period game-winner, scored with just 17 seconds left in regulation. His third period goal on Saturday pulled the team ahead of Arizona State, then he added two additional assists on both the game-winner and the game’s final goal. 

Defender of the Week

Nic Belpedio (So., Colgate) had four points from the Raiders blue line this weekend. Belpedio assisted on both the opening goal and the equalizer in Friday’s 3-2 overtime win over Brown. On Saturday, he set the tone of the game with a goal 26 seconds into the first period then added an insurance goal in the third period on the power play.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week

Yaniv Perets (So., Quinnipiac) helped the Bobcats to a weekend sweep of Princeton. On Friday, Perets made 22 saves on 23 shots, including serving as the final line of defense during five successful penalty kills. He made 31 saves on 32 shots on Saturday, finishing the weekend with 53 saves, just two goals allowed, and a save percentage of .963 on the weekend. 

Rookie of the Week

Sean Donaldson (Fr., Cornell) added the first assists of his collegiate career this weekend. On Friday, Donaldson assisted on two goals, one at even strength and one on the power play, to power the Big Red to a 5-2 defeat of Yale. He repeated the performance on Saturday with two assists during the second period, including another helper with the player advantage, to help Cornell win both of their weekend contests against Yale and Brown.
