Bancroft, Anderson, Caron Claim Weekly Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s weekly award winners, honoring Dalton Bancroft (Cornell), Nick Anderson (Colgate), and Mathieu Caron (Brown) for the week of play ending November 27, 2022.

Forward of the Week and Rookie of the Week

Dalton Bancroft (Fr., Cornell) takes home two honors as both Forward and Rookie of the Week after his first career hat trick and a multi-point holiday week. On Tuesday, Bancroft assisted on the game-winner in the Big Red’s 2-1 defeat of Sacred Heart at home in Ithaca. He followed up that performance this weekend with a three-goal outing in Cornell’s 6-0 victory over #6/6 UConn at Madison Square Garden. Bancroft’s performance on Saturday was his first career hat trick.

Defender of the Week

Nick Anderson (Jr., Colgate) had a multi-point weekend as the Raiders traveled west to take on Niagara University. In two games against the Purple Eagles, Anderson registered a goal, two assists, and nine shots from the blue line. His goal on Friday tied the game at one apiece, while he added helpers on both of Colgate’s goals on Saturday, including one with the skater advantage.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week

Mathieu Caron (So., Brown) battled hard to earn his second and third wins of the season this weekend when Brown took on Holy Cross and Providence. On Friday, Caron saved all 24 shots to backstop his team to victory and earn his first shutout of the season. In Saturday’s contest at #8/8 Providence, Caron made 35 saves on 37 shots, allowing just two goals as Brown re-claimed the Mayor’s Cup.

Rookie of the Week

Dalton Bancroft (Fr., Cornell) was also named Forward of the Week. For more details on his standout week, please see above.
