CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey proudly announces the women’s weekly award winners for the week ending on December 3, 2023: Darcie Lappan (Clarkson), Haley Winn (Clarkson), Jennifer Olnowich (Princeton), Keira Hurry (Clarkson).
Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Darcie Lappan (Gr., Clarkson) receives the title of Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels, following an exceptional performance that saw her contribute four goals and two assists in the Golden Knights' weekend sweep on the road. In the 5-0 victory against Dartmouth, Lappan achieved her first hat trick of the season and added an assist for a four-point night. The following night, she tallied one goal and one assist in the 9-1 win against the Crimson. The fifth-year forward concluded the weekend with seven shots on goal and an impressive plus-minus of five.
Defender of the Week
Haley Winn (Jr., Clarkson) is deservedly named Defender of the Week, showcasing an outstanding performance on the blueline for the undefeated Golden Knights. Winn recorded four assists during the weekend series sweep on the road, extending her point streak to four games. In Friday’s five-goal shutout against Dartmouth, she contributed an assist on Anne Cherkowski’s goal, igniting the scoring frenzy for the Knights. In Saturday’s nine-goal victory at Harvard, the junior defender added three helpers to her tally. Winn concluded the weekend with four shots on goal and a positive plus-minus of four.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Jennifer Olnowich (Jr., Princeton) is acknowledged as the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for her strong performance in the crease, including a shutout in Friday’s 6-0 victory against Rensselaer. Olnowich led the Tigers to a 1-0-1 record over the weekend series, making a total of 45 saves between the shutout and the one-goal tie. The junior netminder finished with an incredible 0.48 goals-against average and a remarkable .978 save percentage during the weekend series at Baker.
Rookie of the Week
Keira Hurry (Fr., Clarkson) earns the title of Rookie of the Week with a standout performance for the Golden Knights, contributing to their 2-0 weekend to maintain an undefeated record this season. In Friday’s five-goal shutout against Dartmouth, Hurry secured her first point by providing an assist on fellow honoree Darcie Lappan’s goal. The first-year forward added a goal of her own and another assist in Saturday’s contest against Harvard, concluding the weekend with a total of three points. Following her offensive contributions, Hurry tallied seven shots on goal and finished with a positive plus-minus of five.
