CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s weekly award winners, honoring Collin Graf (Quinnipiac), James Crossman (Brown), Nathan Reid (Yale), and Sam Lipkin (Quinnipiac) for the week of play ending February 18, 2023.
Forward of the Week
Collin Graf (So., Quinnipiac) has had himself another stellar weekend, putting up six points against Yale and Brown en route to a weekend sweep and the Bobcats’ third consecutive Cleary Cup win. On Friday, Graf assisted on the game-winner in Quinnipiac’s 5-1 defeat of Yale, then added another helper and scored a goal of his own to round out the evening. He had three assists during Saturday’s contest, including one on the power play and two at even strength, to boost the Bobcats to a 5-2 win over the Bears.
Defender of the Week
James Crossman (Sr., Brown) had a three-goal weekend from the blue line, keeping the Bears in close in both of their contests. On Friday, Crossman scored the go-ahead goal on the power play for Brown, but the team ultimately dropped the contest to Princeton, 3-2. Saturday saw Crossman score both of the Bears’ goals against top-ranked Quinnipiac, including one at even strength and one with the skater advantage.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Nathan Reid (Jr., Yale) stood on his head for the Bulldogs this weekend, earning his second win of the season in a dominant fashion. In sixty minutes played, Reid made 40 saves — just one save shy of his season-high, set against Quinnipiac in November — and earned his second shutout of the season as Yale blanked Princeton at Hobey Baker. In just his second season splitting games with goalie partners Pearson and Hopkins, Reid has shown up for the Bulldogs in critical moments and helped keep the team afloat.
Rookie of the Week
Sam Lipkin (Fr., Quinnipiac) reprises his role as Rookie of the Week after a five-point weekend in the Bobcats’ Cleary Cup-clinching victories over Yale and Brown. On Friday, scored two goals less than a minute apart, including the game-winner, and added an assist on a third period insurance goal by Graf. Saturday’s performance was another one for the history books as Lipkin potted two more goals, both at even strength, to help the team to a 5-2 defeat of Brown.
