ECAC Hockey Announces 2022-23 Women's All-League Teams

Ten member programs represented by all-league honorees

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey is proud to announce the selection of 24 student-athletes to its 2022-23 Women's Hockey All-League Teams, with players representing ten member institutions making up the All-ECAC Hockey First, Second, and Third teams and the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team.

Individual award winners will be announced in conjunction with the release of All-League Teams. Additionally, the 2023 ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year will be selected from the 2022-23 ECAC Hockey All-Rookie team.

Please note that all statistics correspond to the final regular season statistics in ECAC Hockey play only.

First Team All-ECAC Hockey

The First Team All-ECAC Hockey offense is headlined by Colgate captain Danielle Serdachny, whose senior season saw her shatter the program’s career points record and post a line of 11-25—36 during league play this season. With 11 goals and 26 assists under her belt, Yale forward Elle Hartje also claims First Team honors with 37 points in 22 league contests, good for the Bulldogs’ team lead. The First Team’s offense is rounded out by Cornell captain Gillis Frechette, who capped off her senior year with a career-high 38 league points, courtesy of 14 goals and 24 assists. 

On defense, Colgate’s Sydney Bard reprised her role as a two-way defender this season, putting up 19 points off of two goals and 17 assists and blocking 28 shots. Yale defender Emma Seitz, whose 15 points lead her team’s defenders in scoring, has been critical in limiting goals against to just 34 for the Bulldogs this season, and rounds out the First Team defense.

In goal, sophomore netminder Pia Dukaric has had a breakout year during the regular season, finishing second among the league’s goaltenders in goals against average (1.49) and save percentage (.928) while also finishing in the top three in both categories on the national leaderboard. Dukaric made a season-high 40 saves in her 3-0 shutout of Clarkson to wrap up the month of January (January 28). 

Second Team All-ECAC

The Second Team All-ECAC Hockey honorees include a trio of junior forwards, each of whom are coming off career-best seasons. St. Lawrence captain Julia Gosling scored 11 goals during the 2022-23 campaign and added 17 assists to cap it off. Olivia Mobley led Quinnipiac in league scoring this season with 29 points, including scoring three game-winners during league play in her third year with the Bobcats. Wrapping up the Second Team offense is Cornell’s Izzy Daniel, whose 35 points, courtesy of 13 goals and 22 assists, during league play were good for second on the team.

On the blue line, juniors and former U-18 teammates on Team Canada Kendall Cooper and Nicole Gosling earn Second Team selections in back-to-back seasons. In 22 league contests for the Bobcats, Cooper scored four goals and nine assists, and blocked 14 shots. Gosling scored four goals and tallied 13 assists during league play for a total of 17 points, along with accumulating 29 blocks.

In goal, Hannah Murphy rounds out the Second Team with over 1000 minutes logged between the pipes during the regular season. In 13 league games played during her sophomore campaign, Murphy has made 289 saves and finished the regular season with a .938 save percentage and 1.47 goals against average, both good for the league lead. Most recently, Murphy made a season-high 37 saves against Clarkson on February 4. 

Third Team All-ECAC

The Third Team All-ECAC Hockey offense is powered by a trio of forwards representing three different member programs. Junior Kristýna Kaltounková scored 12 goals, including three game-winners, and added 16 assists during the Raiders’ regular season, finishing second on the team in scoring. Yale captain Claire Dalton scored 9 goals and added 16 assists for a total of 25 points while breaking the program record for career assists in just her third contest of the season. Rounding out the Third Team forward corps is Clarkson’s Gabrielle David, who had a career year with 13 goals and 12 assists during league play for 25 points, and is currently tied for eighth all-time in points in the Golden Knights’ record books. 

Colgate’s Allyson Simpson and Clarkson’s Haley Winn round out the Third Team defense. Simpson, in her senior season, set a career-high in assists (25) and points (29), adding four goals to round out an offensively-productive 2022-23 campaign. She also blocked 63 shots, including a single-game high of six during the Raiders’ contest against Quinnipiac on January 13. Winn finished off the regular season with five goals and 14 assists and blocked 49 shots, including a single-game high of seven when the Golden Knights took down Princeton, 5-4 in overtime, on February 17. 

Between the pipes for the Third Team is Rensselaer netminder Amanda Rampado, who set a career high in league wins this season (4) and saves (696) while starting the bulk of the Engineers’ contests. Through 22 league contests, Rampado made 696 saves, topping the league’s leaderboard in saves per game with 31.63. She wrapped up the season with a .919 save percentage and 2.77 goals against average and earned two clean sheets.

ECAC All-Rookie Team

Headlining the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team is Yale forward Jordan Ray, whose selection to the team was unanimous after a regular season that saw her score 15 goals and tally 22 assists for 37 points, and record her first hat trick in the Bulldogs’ 10-1 defeat of Union (February 3). Joining Ray at forward is Brown freshman Jade Iginla, whose 17 goals this season led league freshmen and placed her third in the national scoring race among rookies. Iginla added six assists for a total of 23 points, finishing first in scoring on the Bears; she also scored her first collegiate hat trick in a 4-1 win over Rensselaer (February 3). Rounding out the All-Rookie forward corps is Colgate’s Elyssa Biederman, whose 14 goals and 19 assists were good for fourth on a high-scoring Raiders team. Biederman had three game-winners and one hat trick this season (a 5-2 win over Brown on December 2). 

Shoring up the blue line for the All-Rookie Team are Cornell teammates Grace Dwyer and Alyssa Regalado, who recently squared off across the ice from each other at the 2022 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship, representing the United States and Canada, respectively. During her first collegiate season, Dwyer had a goal and 12 assists for 13 points and blocked 35 shots, including five in the Big Red’s narrow 4-3 loss to Ohio State (December 17). Regalado scored seven goals and added seven assists for 14 points during her freshman campaign, blocking 40 shots throughout the regular season.

In her first collegiate season between the pipes, Taylor Hyland put up impressive numbers and rounds out the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team. In 11 league contests, Hyland made 241 saves, including a career-best 41 against Yale (November 5) in just her second appearance for the Tigers. She wrapped up her freshman campaign with a .893 save percentage and a 2.84 goals against average.
