Labad, Sikich, Davidson, and DiGirolamo Claim Weekly Honors

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey is excited to announce the women’s weekly award winners for the week ending on October 22nd, 2024: Maya Labad (Quinnipiac), Cameron Sikich (Brown) (Union), Emily Davidson (Harvard), and Angelina DiGirolamo (Princeton).

Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Maya Labad (Quinnipiac) secures Forward of the Week honors, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Montreal native had a milestone weekend, earning her first career hat trick. In three games this week, she had four goals and 1 assist in a Tuesday loss to Providence and a weekend sweep against Syracuse. With eight goals this season (T-1st in Div. I, 1st in ECAC Hockey), Labad is currently at a one-goal-per-game pace, with the first weekend of league play beginning Friday.

Defender of the Week
Cameron Sikich (Brown) earns Defender of the Week honors for her opening week performance on the blue line. This weekend, the senior recorded three goals and two assists, with a +5 rating. Sikich has already matched a career high with three goals in the season. The Bears started the season hot, outscoring Franklin Pierce 14-3.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Emily Davidson (Harvard) claims MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. This weekend, the junior out of Ottawa led the Crimson to a 1-0 victory over #9 UConn in Cambridge. Davidson made 34 saves in the shutout against the Huskies at Bright-Landry Hockey Center. 

#Bitcoin Rookie of the Week
Angelina DiGirolamo (Princeton) takes home Bitcoin Rookie of the Week honors after her breakout first weekend in black and orange. The Woburn Mass. native scored two goals and collected three assists in the Tigers season-opening series against Robert Morris. DiGirolamo had a breakout performance in Saturday's game, where she had a two-goal game and two assists, ending the weekend leading the team in plus-minus (+6).
