CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Fresh off a historic 2023-24 campaign that landed two league programs in the Women's Frozen Four, ECAC Hockey has announced the Women's Hockey conference schedule for the 2024-25 season.
The quest for the regular season title and ensuing ECAC Tournament Championship will take place over the league’s traditional 132-game slate, beginning on October 25 and concluding on March 8 with the league’s Women’s Championship Final.
As is league tradition, the regular season schedule features the most balanced schedule in the nation where each program plays its 11 competitors once at home and once on the road throughout the course of the year.
Last season, Colgate (55 points) edged out Clarkson (54.5 points) and St. Lawrence (53 points) to claim the regular season title and top seed in the postseason. Cornell was the fourth seed and receiving the final Opening Round bye in the first ever 12-team women's playoff.
As the regular season concludes, the league’s 12 members battle for the ECAC Women's Hockey Championship trophy and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Mirroring the structure introduced last season, the women's playoff structure remains as follows for 2024-25:
- First Round – One game hosted by 5-8 seeds vs. 9-12 seeds
- Quarterfinals – Best-of-three series hosted by 1-4 seeds vs. winners of First Round games
- Championship Weekend – Semifinals and Final
Historically, Harvard has won the most regular season titles in the league's history with seven championships, while also leading the way in the postseason with six tournament triumphs. Colgate, however, enters the 2024-25 season on the heels of four consecutive league tournament titles.
The league's final four in 2023-24 (Colgate, Clarkson, St. Lawrence, Cornell) all advanced to the NCAA Tournament, marking the league's second-straight season with four NCAA bids. Colgate and Clarkson earned victories in the regional finals and both moved on to the Women's Frozen Four in Durham, NH. Clarkson's win over Minnesota was a four-overtime thriller at Cheel Arena, while Colgate took down Cornell in an ECAC rematch in Hamilton.
All dates and times listed for the ECAC Women’s Hockey schedule are subject to change. The non-conference portion of the 2024-25 schedule will be added once all ECAC Hockey teams announce their own non-conference schedules.
