ECAC Hockey Announces Women's September/October Monthly Awards

Lamarche, Watson, Manness, Bergmann Honored

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has announced the women's monthly award winners for games played in September and October: Kahlen Lamarche (Jr. Quinnipiac), Makayla Watson (So., Quinnipiac), Sara Manness (Fr., Clarkson), and Annelies Bergmann (Jr., Cornell).

Forward of the Month, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Kahlen Lamarche (Jr., Quinnipiac) secures Forward of the Month honors presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Sudbury, Ontario native registered 14 goals and eight assists in 11 games played in September and October, boasting a two points-per-game average. In a weekend series against Northeastern on October 17-18, Lamarche tallied seven goals (two hat tricks) for the Bobcats, the most goals by any NCAA DI men’s or women’s hockey player in a single weekend in at least 7 years. Heading into November, the Everest Academy alum is +18 and leads the Bobcats in goals (14) and points (22).

Ironhead Defender of the Month
Makayla Watson (So., Quinnipiac) earns Ironhead Defender of the Month recognition with a solid performance on the blueline. Watson accumulated nine points through 11 games and a +14 rating in the first month and a half of play. Watson scored one goal while tallying eight assists, which is even with teammate Kahlen Lamarche for second-most assists on the team. The Bobcats host St. Lawrence and No. 9 Clarkson this coming weekend.

#Bitcoin Rookie of the Month
Sara Manness (Fr., Clarkson) garners Bitcoin Rookie of the Month honors for September/October. The Manitoba native had a standout opening month in which she played nine games, tallying three goals and 12 assists for 15 points. Manness is +11 and leads her team in assists and points, and scored the game-winning goal against the Engineers.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month
Annelies Bergmann (Jr., Cornell) has been recognized as the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month. The 2024-25 ECAC Hockey MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Year stood firm in front of the net in the first month and a half of the season, posting a 6-0-0 record, making 154 saves. The Detroit, Michigan native has posted four shutouts, allowing only four goals against in her six games. She has a 0.975 save percentage with a superb 0.67 goals against average.
