PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown assistant coach and The 1976 Hall of Fame Hockey Team Director of Operations
Evan Moorhouse has been added to the United States coaching staff for the 97th Spengler Cup.
Moorhouse will serve as the video coach in addition to hockey operations duties with the United States Collegiate Selects at the 2025 Spengler Cup, scheduled for December 26-31 in Davos, Switzerland.
The United States squad will compete against Team Canada, IFK Helsinki, Sparta Prague, Fribourg-Gottéron, and HC Davos in the tournament. It's the first time collegiate players have represented the U.S. in the historic event.
Each team will play a minimum of three games with the U.S. Collegiate Selects opening the tournament against Team Canada on Dec. 26. Team Canada will be made up of professionals from European leagues, the AHL, and ECHL.
The U.S. Collegiate Select team is made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men's ice hockey, with each conference being represented.
Penn State head coach Guy Gadowsky is serving as the head coach for the United States squad. Former Brown assistant and current New Hampshire head coach
Mike Souza and Niagara head coach Jason Lammers will serve as the assistant coaches.
