DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey is proud to announce the women's monthly award winners for games played in November: Maddie Leaney (Jr. Union), Isabella Gratzl (Fr., Brown), Molly Boyle (Fr., Yale), and Uma Corniea (Jr., Princeton).
Forward of the Month, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Maddie Leaney (Jr. Union) secures Forward of the Month honors presented by Bluebird Hotels. Hailing from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, the junior forward is +10 on the month, registering nine goals (one hat trick and two game winners) and one assist in seven games played in November. On November 29, Leaney scored twice and set the program's all-time game-winning goals record, guiding the Garnet Chargers to a weekend sweep of Delaware at M&T Bank Center.
Defender of the Month
Isabella Gratzl (Fr., Brown) earns Defender of the Month recognition with a solid performance on the blueline for Brown. Gratzl accumulated eight points through nine games in November. The freshman scored four goals (one game winner) while tallying four assists, leading the defense in points (8). The Bears will play Yale in a weekend series, December 6th and 7th.
Rookie of the Month
Molly Boyle (Fr., Yale) garners Rookie of the Month honors for November. The Massachusetts native had a standout month in which she played nine games, netting three goals and posting six assists for a total of nine points. On November 1, the rookie defender scored her first collegiate goal in the Bulldogs' 5-4 victory.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Month
Uma Corniea (Jr., Princeton) has been recognized as the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month. The junior from Edina, Minnesota, stood firm in the crease for Princeton. Corniea posted a 5-1-0 record, making 172 saves on 181 shots, tallying two shutouts with a 0.950 save percentage and 1.49 goals against average. The Tigers head north to face off against ranked opponents Colgate and Cornell.
