HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team scored two first period goals and held on to defeat Harvard 2-0 at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats came out fast, with Maya Labad scoring just eight minutes in after receiving a pass from Emerson Jarvis and slipping the puck five hole.
QU wouldn't be done in the first period, with Makayla Watson taking the puck to the net after a give-and-go with Maya Labad and fired it top shelf for the second goal of the game.
Neither team would score in the next 41 minutes of play with Kaley Doyle making 26 saves.
STATS & NOTES
- Maya Labad scored her 50th career goal, becoming the fifth player in program history to reach the milestone.
- She also added an assist to move to 94 career points, currently sitting in tenth place on the all-time list.
- Makayla Watson had a goal and an assist for her fourth multi-point game of the season.
- Kaley Doyle notched her eighth shutout of the season, tying the national lead.
- The Bobcats continue to lead the country in team shutouts with 12.
- Doyle currently sits second nationally in both goals against average and save percentage.

With the win, the Bobcats advance to play Clarkson in the No. 5 versus No. 4 seed match up in the ECAC Quarterfinals beginning a best-of-three series on Friday.
