Kicking off our offensive line is Brown’s Tyler Kopff. The sophomore was explosive on the ice this season, totaling 7 goals and 15 assists, totaling 22 points. This effectively placed him 5th in the conference and first overall for Brown. The Ridgewood, NJ native found himself in front of the net often, totaling 76 shots (2nd in ECAC), and converted on the power play with 5 of his 7 goals coming from such opportunities (T-1 in ECAC).
Down in Princeton, center Brendan Gorman had a huge impact on the Tigers’ season. Gorman scored 9 goals and 10 assists, leading Princeton in points and placing 14th in the league. The Arlington, Massachusetts native was a force at the face-off dot, winning 203 of his 451 battles, placing him 4th overall in the league. The junior also had two game winning goals, against St. Lawrence and RPI.
Completing our forwards lineup is Brandon Buhr of Union. The junior scored 13 goals (3rd in ECAC), and 6 assists. The North Vancouver, BC native averaged 0.59 goals per game, including 3 game winning goals. He also had an impressive 2 hat tricks this season, one against St. Lawrence and at Cornell, the only ECAC player this season to accomplish this feat in league play.
Back at the blue line, Cornell’s Tim Rego is the first of our defensive pairing. In his third year with the Big Red, Rego scored 3 goals with 12 assists (17th in ECAC). The Mansfield, Massachusetts native finished 3rd in points for Cornell and ended with a +5 rating overall. He tallied 18 blocked shots, and proved a critical piece of Cornell’s defensive end this season.
Next to him is John Prokop of Union. The junior netted 3 goals and 11 assists, including the game winner over Brown. The Wausau, Wisconsin native averaged 0.50 assists per game, placing him in the top thirty in the ECAC and posted 50 shots. He wraps his season with a +7 rating overall, and a critical factor in securing a first week playoff bye for Union.
In net is Union’s Kyle Chauvette, a junior with a 12-8-2 record, who posted a 0.905 save percentage, placing him 6th in the league. The Goffstown, New Hampshire native had a shutout against St. Lawrence in November, and only had a 2.51 goals against average. Totaling 493 saves on the season, Chauvette proved critical to Union’s fourth place conference finish.
