ECAC Hockey, SidelineSwap Announce Partnership

SidelineSwap joins as the presenting sponsor of the Men’s and Women’s Defender of the Week awards.

DANBURY, Conn. - ECAC Hockey has announced a new partnership with SidelineSwap as the presenting sponsor of both the Men’s and Women’s Defender of the Week awards for the 2026-2027 season.

“We’re excited to welcome SidelineSwap as an official partner of ECAC Hockey,” said Commissioner Doug Christiansen. “SidelineSwap’s platform has been trusted by millions of athletes for over 10 years, and as a stakeholder in the game, I recognize the value that the company’s service has to hockey families. We are proud to team up with a company that helps to make sports even just a little more affordable for athletes and their families.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with ECAC Hockey for the 2026–27 season.” said Doug Smith, SidelineSwap’s Vice President of Partnerships. “ECAC fans are some of the most passionate in college hockey, and many of them are players, parents and coaches themselves. SidelineSwap gives that community an easier, more affordable way to stay on the ice: buy quality used gear for a fraction of retail, and sell what’s sitting in the garage to fund the next upgrade. We’re especially excited to bring trade-in events to both the men’s and women’s championships in Lake Placid this March, where fans can turn their old gear into value on the spot. Making hockey & all sports more accessible is core to what we do, and ECAC is the perfect partner to help grow the game.”
