Pellerin, Manness, Breton, Corniea Claim September/October Monthly Awards

ECAC Hockey has selected the women's monthly award winners for the months of September and October.

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the women's monthly award winners for the months of September and October: Jessie Pellerin (Jr., Clarkson), Kate Manness (So., Clarkson), Rosalie Breton (Fr., Quinnipiac) and Uma Corniea (Sr., Princeton).

Forward of the Month
Jessie Pellerin (Jr., Clarkson) claims ECAC Hockey's Forward of the Month honors for September and October. The Ontario native has recorded 18 points in her first 12 games to start the season, four more than the next closest skater in the league, and tied for fourth-best in the nation. Her 11 goals also lead all ECAC Hockey and NCAA skaters, while her seven assists also place her within the top ten. Pellerin is one of four skaters with multiple power play goals and game-winning tallies so far this season, and she is also a consistent force at the faceoff dot for the Golden Knights, as her 118 faceoff wins place her fourth in the conference.

Defender of the Month
Kate Manness (So., Clarkson) has earned the nod as ECAC Hockey's Defender of the Month for September and October. The Manitoba native has tallied 14 points in 10 games from the blueline to start the season, the second-most of any player in the conference, only trailing her teammate Pellerin, and the second-most by a defender in the NCAA. She ranks second among ECAC Hockey defenders in both goals (4) and assists (10), and her +13 plus/minus total also places her in a tie for second among all skaters. Manness recorded ten points in a four-game span from October 16th - October 24th.

Rookie of the Month Presented by Just Play
Rosalie Breton (Fr., Quinnipiac) has been named ECAC Hockey's Rookie of the Month presented by Just Play for September and October. The Québec native has been a dynamic distributor from the blueline to begin her NCAA career, as she leads all league defenders and ranks second overall in assists (11). She also leads the nation in points scored by a first year defender. Breton also sits top-ten in the conference in plus/minus, with a +10 rating in 11 games played. Eight of those points have come in conference play, including a four-assists effort against Union, and a three-assist day against Brown.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month
Uma Corniea (Sr., Princeton) is ECAC Hockey's MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month for September and October. The Minnesota native has been virtually unsolvable to begin her senior campaign, allowing one goal or fewer in all four of her appearances thus far, including a 20-save shutout effort against RPI on October 23rd. Among ECAC Hockey goaltenders with at least two games played, Corniea is first in goals against average (0.75), first in save percentage (.974), and tied for third in wins (4). She is also one of two league netminders to have won four games so far this year without losing a game.
