Muthersbaugh, Bentham, Wyttenbach, and Shea Claim ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men’s weekly award winners for the week ending on February 16th, 2026: Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union), Rhys Bentham (Jr., Yale), Ethan Wyttenbach (Fr., Quinnipiac), and Tyler Shea (Sr., Brown).

Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week
Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union) claims Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week honors. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) alum was impressive for the Garnet Chargers' weekend sweep. Friday night, Muthersbaugh scored two goals in Union’s 7-6 win over Colgate. The next day, the New Hampshire native netted two goals, including the game-winner, in the 4-1 win over No. 9 Cornell. He is tied for first in points (29) with teammate Tyler Dunbar and is second in goals (15) behind Brandon Buhr.

ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
Rhys Bentham (Jr., Yale) has been honored with the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week award. The defenseman hailing from Alberta was dominant on the blue line this past weekend for the Bulldogs. Friday night, Yale hosted No. 12 Dartmouth, where Bentham scored the third goal of the night. The game ended in a 4-4 tie, as neither team was successful in overtime, forcing a shootout. The next night, Blace scored the second goal of the night in the Bulldogs' 3-2 overtime win. The Bulldogs will hit the road this weekend, facing Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

Rookie of the Week
Ethan Wyttenbach (Fr., Quinnipiac) claims Rookie of the Week recognition. The Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) alum has continued to be impressive for the Bobcats. The New York native tallied two goals and two assists in the weekend series against Princeton. Friday night, Wyttenbach took advantage of the power play and assisted teammate Aaron Schwartz on the first goal of the night. He went on to score the third goal of the game 2:19 into the third period for the 4-1 win. The next day, Wyttenbach assisted teammate Antonin Verreault on his power play goal. He followed by scoring an empty net goal for the 4-1 win. He continues to lead the nation in scoring (49) and is five goals away from the Bobcat freshman scoring record of 54.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Tyler Shea (Sr., Brown) is the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. The Bears' netminder was strong in the crease, going 1-0-1 this weekend against Harvard and Dartmouth. Shea made a total of 75 saves while allowing five goals, resulting in a .938 save percentage. Brown will hit the road this weekend to face St. Lawrence and Clarkson.
