CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Julia Gosling (St. Lawrence), Emma Seitz (Yale), Pia Dukaric (Yale), and Jade Iginla (Brown) for the week of play ending November 27, 2022.
Forward of the Week
Captain Julia Gosling (Jr., St. Lawrence) had a busy week for the Saints as they headed to Erie to take on Mercyhurst. On Tuesday, Gosling scored her first goal of the week to tie the game at three apiece; the Saints would go on to lose 6-4. Wednesday’s game was a repeat performance from Gosling and then some, as she tied the game at one and assisted on the eventual game-winner in the first period, then found the back of the net again in the second with an insurance goal.
Defender of the Week
Emma Seitz (Sr., Yale) had two points and nine shots from the blue line for the Bulldogs this weekend at the Henderson Collegiate Hockey Showcase out west. After blocking one shot in Yale’s 2-0 shutout of Boston University on Friday, Seitz assisted on the opening goal and then scored an even-strength equalizer of her own in the first period to tie the game at two apiece. She also blocked four shots on Saturday en route to a 4-3 win over Minnesota.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Pia Dukaric (So., Yale) earns back-to-back Goaltender of the Week honors after stunning Boston University and a huge performance against Minnesota. On Friday, Dukaric recorded her third shutout of the season when the Bulldogs blanked BU. She kept up the performance on Saturday, making 29 saves on 32 shots to keep one of the most talented offensive corps in the country to just three goals. Dukaric’s 55-save weekend and her .948 save percentage both rank among her best performances so far this season.
Rookie of the Week
Jade Iginla (Fr., Brown) had two goals and an assist en route to one of her best weeks of college hockey yet. On Tuesday, Iginla assisted on the game-winner in Brown’s 1-0 shutout of Holy Cross. Her two goals on Saturday accounted for more than half of the team’s offense as she first opened the scoring and scored the go-ahead goal, only for the Brown Bears to fall 4-3 to Providence.
