Serdachny, Bard, Pasiechnyk, Chantler Honored with Monthly Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its men’s award winners for the month of October: Danielle Serdachny (Colgate), Sydney Bard (Colgate), Michelle Pasiechnyk (Clarkson), and Madison Chantler (Quinnipiac).

Forward of the Month

Danielle Serdachny (Sr., Colgate) earns Forward of the Month honors after an unparalleled start to the 2022-23 season. Through 11 games, Serdachny has scored eight goals, tied for third in the national scoring race and including three game-winners, and added 13 assists to lead the nation in points (21). Her five point performance in the Raiders’ 9-0 win over RIT on October 14 is a single-game season high and just one of five multi-point games so far this season for the forward.

Defender of the Month

Defender Sydney Bard (Sr., Colgate) has blocked nine shots and recorded 11 points from the blue line so far this season, leading the Raiders in scoring among defenders. On September 30, she scored her first goal of the season in a 5-0 shutout of Mercyhurst. Her second goal, scored this past weekend on October 28 vs. Princeton, was her first power play tally since September 25, 2021; both goals were game-winners, a stat that has her tied for third place in the league.

Goaltender of the Week

Michelle Pasiechnyk (Jr., Clarkson) is gearing up for a career year. Through eight starts, she is off to a 7-1 record with her only loss coming in overtime. She opened the season with back-to-back shutouts of Sacred Heart (September 23) and Bemidji State (September 30), and went on to record two more clean slates to lead the nation and set a single-season career high in shutouts. Her .961 save percentage ranks third in the ECAC and fourth nationwide, while her goals against average (0.75) is second on both the ECAC and nationwide leaderboards.

Rookie of the Month

Madison Chantler (Fr., Quinnipiac) made a seamless transition to the ECAC after her gold medal win at the 2022 U-18 Women’s World Championship. She scored her first point, first goal, and first hat trick all in the same game: a 5-0 win over Boston College on September 30. Chantler has maintained her momentum ever since, adding an additional three goals and two assists for eight points.
