CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Izzy Daniel (Cornell), Nicole Gosling (Clarkson), Amanda Rampado (Rensselaer), and Elyssa Biederman (Colgate) for the week of play ending January 21, 2023.

Forward of the Week

Izzy Daniel (Jr., Cornell) had an eight-point week for the Big Red through three games played, helping the team to a 2-1 record with a win against non-league Syracuse and a split against Colgate. On Tuesday, Daniel scored the second period game-winner and assisted on a third period power play goal for Cornell as they downed Syracuse at Tennity. Daniel kept up the performance on Friday, contributing to all three of the Big Red’s goals in their 9-3 defeat at the hands of the Raiders, then added two assists and scored another game-winner in Saturday’s victory over Colgate.

Defender of the Week

Nicole Gosling (Jr., Clarkson) had a three-point weekend from the blue line for the Golden Knights as they faced their fiercest rivals and battled to a 1-0-1 record. In Friday’s competition, Gosling had four shots on goal and assisted on teammate Haley Winn’s third period goal to force overtime and an eventual draw. Saturday’s contest saw Gosling score the game-winner in the final seconds of the second period, then assist on Gabrielle David’s insurance goal in the third to cap off a solid 3-1 victory against the Golden Knights’ biggest league foe.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week

Amanda Rampado (Sr., Rensselaer) repeats as MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week after a weekend split that saw her combine for 59 saves, a 1.53 goals against average, and a .952 save percentage. Rampado opened the weekend with a 27-save performance against Harvard, allowing just two goals against the Crimson in the 3-1 loss. On Saturday, she made 32 saves and allowed just one goal in the team’s defeat of Dartmouth, earning her third league win of the season and facing one of her highest shot totals of the season.

Rookie of the Week

Elyssa Biederman (Fr., Colgate) earns back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors after another five-point week for the Raiders in their split with Cornell. On Friday, Biederman had four points in the team’s dominant 9-3 win, tallying three assists on her teammates’ goals and then scoring a goal of her own to close out the game. Saturday’s contest saw Biederman score the Raiders’ only goal of the third period to tie the game at two goals apiece.
