CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Nina Steigauf (Quinnipiac), Kate Reilly (Quinnipiac), Catie Boudiette (Quinnipiac), and Stephanie Bourque (Union) for the week of play ending January 3, 2023.
Forward of the Week
Nina Steigauf (Jr., Quinnipiac) earns ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week after scoring a goal and adding an assist in the Bobcats’ defeat of Wisconsin on Sunday. Steigauf added a helper on Kate Reilly’s opening goal, then converted with the skater advantage early in the third period to help Quinnipiac increase their lead and ultimately win the game against the top-ranked Badger squad.
Defender of the Week
Kate Reilly (Sr., Quinnipiac) had two points from the blue line en route to earning ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week. In Sunday’s contest against Wisconsin, Reilly scored what would stand as both the competition’s opening goal and the game-winner when she capitalized at the end of the second period. She also added a helper on Maya Labad’s third period goal and buoyed the Bobcats to their historic win over Wisconsin.
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Catie Boudiette (Jr., Quinnipiac) stays undefeated between the pipes so far this season and registered her fifth shutout of the year when the Bobcats had a rematch against the Badgers on New Year’s Day. She made 34 saves on all 34 shots she faced, including defending against two Wisconsin power play opportunities. Boudiette’s performance in net helped Quinnipiac to their first ever victory over and first ever shutout of Wisconsin.
Rookie of the Week
Stephanie Bourque (Fr., Union) had an impressive game for the Dutchwomen when they took on Saint Michael’s on Monday, scoring her first collegiate goal and adding three helpers for her first multi-point game since September 30. Bourque assisted on the team’s first two goals, both the game’s opener and Maddie Suitor’s eventual game-winner towards the end of the first period. In the second, Bourque found the back of the net with a power play tally for her first goal, then assisted on another power play tally by rookie teammate Riley Walsh in the third period.
