ECAC Hockey Announces Partnership with Megawatt

Company to Sponsor Rookie of the Month and Year Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced a new partnership with Megawatt as the official sponsor of the Men’s and Women’s Rookie of the Month and Rookie of the Year awards. Beginning in December, the monthly award will be known as the “Bitcoin Rookie of the Month.” 

During the 2023-24 awards presentations at the ECAC Hockey Men’s and Women’s Championships, the yearly award will be presented as the ECAC Hockey Bitcoin Rookie of the Year award.  

“We are thrilled to partner with an innovative company like Megawatt which prides itself on sustainable Bitcoin mining,” said ECAC Hockey Commissioner Doug Christiansen. “The company leadership has a history of innovation and they also happen to be big hockey fans. We are excited to welcome Megawatt to ECAC Hockey.”
