Hartje, Markowski, Morgan, DiAntonio Claim Weekly Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Elle Hartje (Yale), Stephanie Markowski (Clarkson), Lucy Morgan (St. Lawrence), and Carina DiAntonio (Yale) for the week of play ending February 18, 2023.

Forward of the Week 

Elle Hartje (Jr., Yale) had an incredible nine points in just two contests for the Bulldogs this weekend, putting up three goals and adding five helpers to buoy Yale to a weekend sweep and their first ever ECAC Hockey regular season title. On Friday, Hartje had three assists, including on the team’s game-winner, as the Bulldogs brought down Dartmouth. She followed up the performance on Saturday with an explosive five-point game, including her first hat trick of the season and two additional assists on the team’s insurance goals to cap off a historic weekend. 

Defender of the Week

For the second time in as many weeks, Stephanie Markowski (Sr., Clarkson) earns Defender of the Week after tallying three goals from the blue line in the Golden Knights’ weekend sweep of Princeton and Quinnipiac. On Friday, Markowski registered the first hat trick of her collegiate career with three even strength goals in Clarkson’s 5-4 defeat of the Tigers at home. Though Princeton got off to a hot start, Markowski’s three goals in regulation helped power the team to an overtime win. In Saturday’s victory over Quinnipiac, Markowski blocked five shots for a weekend total of eight blocks.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week

Lucy Morgan (Sr., St. Lawrence) capped off the regular season with two big wins over Quinnipiac and Dartmouth, extending the team’s unbeaten streak to four games. In back-to-back starts for the Saints, Morgan allowed just one goal in each outing for a 1.01 goals against average and made 45 saves, including 27 against a nationally-ranked Bobcats squad. She wrapped up the week with a .957% save percentage. 

Rookie of the Week

Carina DiAntonio (Fr., Yale) tallied four points en route to the Bulldogs’ weekend sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard, putting up one goal and adding three assists. On Friday, she assisted on two of her teammates’ third period goals, both at even strength, then followed up her performance on Saturday when she and teammate Claire Dalton combined for two goals. At the end of the second period, DiAntonio assisted on Dalton’s goal to put the Bulldogs up by five, then scored a goal of her own to open the third period and extend the lead to six as Yale dropped Harvard, 10-1, to close out the regular season.
