CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — The NCAA announced today the field of 16 teams slated to compete in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Championship. This year’s national tournament will feature four ECAC Hockey teams: Colgate (auto-bid), Cornell, Harvard, and Quinnipiac (at-large bids).
The quest for the 2023 national championship title begins this Thursday, March 23, with the regional semifinals. Regional finals are slated to conclude on Sunday, March 26, with the winners advancing to the 2023 NCAA Men's Frozen Four, to be played at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Six conferences were awarded automatic bids for the 2023 national tournament, while the remaining ten teams were selected with at-large bids. The automatic qualifiers representing their conferences are ECAC Hockey’s Colgate, Atlantic Hockey's Canisius, Big 10's Michigan, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Minnesota State, Hockey East's Boston University, and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's St. Cloud State. Minnesota, Denver, Cornell, Western Michigan, Penn State, Michigan Tech, Merrimack, Harvard, and Ohio State all earned at-large bids.
Quinnipiac (34-3-0) enters the national tournament as the No. 2 seed and will play Merrimack in the Bridgeport Regional. Also in Bridgeport, Harvard (24-7-2) will face off against Ohio State. The Allentown Regional will see ECAC Hockey Men's Tournament Champions Colgate (19-15-5) face off against Michigan. Cornell (20-10-2) will play Denver in the Manchester Regional.

The 2023 Men's Frozen Four begins on Thursday, April 6, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, and culminates with the national championship game on Saturday, April 8.
