Van Gelder, Bourque, Sproule, Leblanc Claim ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the women’s weekly award winners for the week ending on December 2nd, 2025: Mckenna Van Gelder (Sr., Cornell), Stephanie Bourque (Sr., Union), Elle Sproule (Fr., Harvard), and Arianne Leblanc (Jr., Clarkson).

Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Mckenna Van Gelder (Sr., Cornell) earns Forward of the Week honors, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Ontario native posted three goals, two assists, and was +2 on the week. The Big Red took on Syracuse Tuesday, November 25, where Van Gelder tallied an assist on the first goal of the night and later took advantage of a power play to take the 2-1 lead 7:56 into the third period. It was not enough as Syracuse scored one 2:16 later to tie it up 2-2. Neither was able to find the back of the net again in overtime. Heading into their weekend series against Vermont, the Big Red went 1-1, losing Saturday 3-4. They bounced back the next day, where the senior captain posted an assist and netted the final goal of the game for a 5-1 victory.

ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
Stephanie Bourque (Sr., Union) has been named the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week. Union went 2-0 in their weekend shutout over Delaware, where the senior captain was fierce from the blue line. Saturday night, Bourque scored the first and game-winning goal for the Garnet Chargers, as well as tallying four assists in their 7-0 win. The next day, Bourque found her teammate Maddie Leaney for the assist on the first goal of the night, leading to a 3-0 victory.

Rookie of the Week
Elle Sproule (Fr., Harvard) claims Rookie of the Week recognition. The Crimson went 1-1 in their weekend series over Maine. The Shattuck St. Mary's alum tallied an assist on the Crimson's second goal of the night on Friday but fell 4-3 in overtime. The next day, the Crimson came out hard, and the freshman forward netted a goal and posted an assist to secure the 5-1 victory over the Blackbears.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Arianne Leblanc (Jr., Clarkson) has been awarded the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week award. The No. 10 Golden Knights traveled to the nation's capital, where they participated in the D1 in DC tournament, facing off against No. 2 Ohio State and No. 13 St. Cloud State. The junior goaltender took the net Friday night with ten minutes left in the game against Ohio State, who got one by her to make the final score 8-0. The next day, Leblanc had a 29-save shutout over St. Cloud State, leading the Golden Knights to a 2-0 win.
