DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the women’s weekly award winners for the week ending on December 9th, 2025: Mackenzie Alexander (So., Princeton), Sophia Jones (Sr., RPI), Sara Manness (Fr., Clarkson), and Uma Corniea (Jr., Princeton).
Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels
Mackenzie Alexander (So., Princeton) earns Forward of the Week honors, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Newton’s Grove School alum took on a big role in Princeton's weekend sweep. Friday night against Colgate, the sophomore scored her first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and added one assist for a total of four points, helping secure a 6-1 win over the Raiders. The next day, the Tigers faced Cornell, where Alexander posted an assist on the second goal of the night for a 3-2 win. The Tigers advance to 8-2-3 in conference play, where Alexander currently leads the Tigers in goals (12), points (21), and is tied for first in assists (9) alongside teammate Emerson O’Leary.
ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
Sophia Jones (Sr., RPI) has been named the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week. RPI picked up two crucial wins over the weekend for six conference points. Friday night, the senior defender tallied two points against Dartmouth, scoring one goal and tallying an assist. Jones is currently in second for total blocked shots (40), where she blocked six shots against Dartmouth to help lead the Engineers to a 3-1 win.
Rookie of the Week
Sara Manness (Fr., Clarkson) claims Rookie of the Week recognition as the Golden Knights went 1-0-1 in their weekend series over St. Lawrence. While Friday night ended in a 1-1 tie, the team bounced back the next night. The Manitoba native then scored two goals, including the game-winner, as well as tallying one assist for three points in a big 4-3 victory. Manness currently leads the Golden Knights in assists (18) and points (24).
MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week
Uma Corniea (Jr., Princeton) has been awarded the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week award after the No. 9 Tigers hit the road and swept Colgate and Cornell. The November ECAC Goalie of the Month was a brick wall, going 2-0-0, making a total of 64 saves for a .955 save percentage. The junior allowed only three goals for a 1.50 goals against average. The Tigers will be back in action in January, when they will host Stonehill for a weekend series.
