Muthersbaugh, Dunbar, Morin, and Gillespie Claim ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men’s weekly award winners for the week ending on December 15th, 2025: Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union), Tyler Dunbar (Jr., Union), Nathan Morin (Fr., Dartmouth), and Brayden Gillespie (Fr., Union).

Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels 
Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union) has earned the Forward of the Week title, presented by Bluebird Hotels. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders alum was a key player in Union's weekend sweep over Alaska Fairbanks. Muthersbaugh tallied two points, scoring one goal and one assist, in the Garnet Chargers' 5-1 win Friday night. The next day, the sophomore found the back of the net again to score the second goal of the night for a 3-2 win.

ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
Tyler Dunbar (Jr., Union) has been honored with the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week award for the second time in a row. The Michigan native was prominent on the blue line, where he posted a goal and tallied an assist for two points. Dunbar remains tied with teammate Brandon Buhr for the lead in points (21).

Rookie of the Week
Nathan Morin (Fr., Dartmouth) claims Rookie of the Week recognition. The rookie forward and first member of the Big Green to be from Quebec since 2009-10 posted one goal, one assist, and was +3 on the weekend. On Friday night against Army West Point, Morin found teammate Colin Grable, who netted the second goal of the night in a 3-0 shutout victory. The next night, Morin scored the first Big Green goal in the second period to tie it up 1-1, but it was not enough as the Big Green’s win streak came to an end, losing 3-2 in overtime to New Hampshire.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Brayden Gillespie (Fr., Union) is the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. The Ontario native and rookie goaltender went 2-0-0 this weekend against Alaska Fairbanks. The Brampton Steelheads alum made 30 saves, allowing three goals against for a 0.909 save percentage. The Garnet Chargers are back in action in 2026, where they will play the Royal Military College in an exhibition match on January 3rd.
