Cornell University Head Coach Casey Jones Named Assistant Coach

DANBURY, CONN. – Dartmouth men's ice hockey junior forward Hayden Stavroff and Union College senior defenseman Tyler Dunbar were named to the US Collegiate Selects team for the 2026 Spengler Cup, the squad announced on October 1.

The U.S. Collegiate Selects announced the first six players on the 2026 roster heading to Switzerland in December. The full roster will feature 25 student-athletes from all six NCAA DI conferences and will be announced in the coming months. The U.S. Collegiate Selects open play at the 2026 Spengler Cup on Saturday, Dec. 26, against Sweden's Frölunda HC before facing host HC Davos on either December 27 or 28.

Representing the Garnet Chargers, Tyler Dunbar was named First-Team All-ECAC, Second Team All-American, and a finalist for the 2026 ECAC Hockey Player of the Year. As a junior, Dunbar scored the most goals among ECAC Hockey defenders during conference action, tacking on eight assists to go along with his seven goals. Dunbar had the third-most points in college hockey among defensemen (33) and led Union with 35 blocked shots in conference action.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Hayden Stavroff was named a First Team All-American last season as well as the 2026 ECAC Hockey Player of the Year. The junior forward led the league last year with 22 goals and added 15 assists for an incredible 37-point season. A Hobey Baker nominee, Stavroff tallied 28 goals overall with 19 assists for 47 points, leading the country in goals and becoming the first Dartmouth player to lead the NCAA in goals. The sophomore found himself at the top of most league stats throughout the season, helping the Big Green secure their first ECAC Hockey Championship.

Stavroff and Dunbar are not the only individuals representing ECAC Hockey. In July, the United States Collegiate Selects announced its coaching staff. Cornell University head coach Casey Jones was announced as one of two assistant coaches for the USCS team.
