Muthersbaugh, Klassek, Ryan, and Krawchuk Claim ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men’s weekly award winners for the week ending on March 2nd, 2026: Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union), Thomas Klassek (Fr. RPI) Caton Ryan (Fr., Cornell), and Nate Krawchuk (Fr., RPI).

Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week
Ben Muthersbaugh (So., Union) claims Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week honors. The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) alum was impressive in the Garnet Chargers' weekend sweep, picking up six points to clinch the No. 5 seed. Friday night, Muthersbaugh scored two goals in Union’s 5-4 win over Yale. The next day, the New Hampshire native netted the second goal of the night in the 3-0 shutout win over Brown. Muthersbaugh ended the regular season tied for first with teammate Brandon Buhr in points (33) and goals (18). Union will host Brown in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship on Saturday at 5pm.

ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
Thomas Klassek (Fr. RPI) has been honored with the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week award for the second week in a row. The Austrian defenseman was dominant on the blue line Saturday night for the Engineers against Yale. Klassek scored the second goal of the night, as well as tallying three assists in the 4-2 win over the Bulldogs. Klassek ended the regular season first on his team with 15 assists. RPI will travel to Potsdam, New York, to face Clarkson in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship on Friday at 7pm. 

Rookie of the Week
Caton Ryan (Fr., Cornell) claims Rookie of the Week recognition. The Penticton Vees (BCHL) alum scored two goals (1 PPG), tallied one assist, and was +4 on the weekend. Friday night, Ryan scored the third goal of the night for a 5-1 win over the St. Lawrence Saints. The next day, he scored the first goal of the night and later assisted teammate Hoyt Stanley for the Big Red’s game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Clarkson. The rookie forward ended the regular season second on his team goals (11) and tied for second in points (27). The Big Red clinched the No. 3 seed and will face the second-highest seed in the best-of-three quarterfinal series.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Nate Krawchuk (Fr., RPI) is the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week. The Sudbury Wolves (OHL) alum netminder was strong in between the pipes, going 2-0-0 against Brown and Yale. Krawchuk made a total of 47 saves while allowing three goals, resulting in a .940 save percentage.
