Wyttenbach, Klassek, Krawchuk Honored With February Monthly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC proudly announces the men’s monthly award winners for February: Ethan Wyttenbach (Fr., Quinnipiac), Thomas Klassek (Fr., RPI), and Nate Krawchuk (Fr., RPI).

Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Month and Rookie of the Month
Ethan Wyttenbach (Fr., Quinnipiac) claims Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Month honors for the second time in a row and adds Rookie of the Month honors for February. The New York native continues to have an impressive debut season, ending the month with nine goals (3 GWG and 1 hat trick) and seven assists for 16 points in just eight games. His most notable game was against the Yale Bulldogs on February 7th where he netted his first hat trick, including the game winner in the 8-0 victory. Wyttenbach leads Quinnipiac with 24 goals and 33 assists for 57 points, a total that also leads the nation.

Defender of the Month
Thomas Klassek (Fr., RPI) earns Defender of the Month honors for his strong performance on the blue line. In eight games of action, the Austrian rookie scored one goal while tallying seven assists, and was +5 on the month. Most recently in the Engineers' 4-2 win over Yale, Klassek scored the second goal of the night and tallied three assists, one being the game-winner. Klassek sits atop the Engineers with 15 assists at the end of the regular season.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Month
Nate Krawchuk (Fr., RPI) is honored as the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month. The Sudbury Wolves alum was a brick wall in between the pipes, posting a 5-0-0 record in February. Krawchuk made 143 saves for a .947 save percentage and a GAA of 1.60. The Engineers will face Clarkson in the Opening Round of the ECAC playoffs.
