Bloomer, Seitz, Dukaric, Kuehl Claim Weekly Awards

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey has announced its women’s weekly award winners, honoring Anne Bloomer (Harvard), Emma Seitz (Yale), Pia Dukaric (Yale), and Jane Kuehl (Princeton) for the week of play ending January 29, 2023.

Forward of the Week

Anne Bloomer (Sr., Harvard) was putting up numbers for the Crimson this week, tallying three goals and adding three assists for a total of six points and helping Harvard to a weekend split with Cornell and Colgate. On Friday, Bloomer recorded her second career hat trick with three goals in Harvard’s dramatic 7-6 rivalry win and had helpers on two of her teammates’ goals as well. Saturday’s contest saw Bloomer assist on Harvard’s only goal of the game in their 3-1 loss to Colgate.

Defender of the Week

Emma Seitz (Sr., Yale) had her third multipoint game of the season and blocked three shots this weekend, combining her skill on the blue line with her offensive prowess to cement herself as a threat at both ends of the ice. On Friday, Seitz blocked three shots in the team’s 6-1 victory over St. Lawrence, then tallied two points in Saturday’s shutout of Clarkson. She converted on the power play in the second period, then added a helper on Claire Dalton’s insurance goal to close out regulation.

MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week

Pia Dukaric (So., Yale) was as solid as ever between the pipes this week for the Bulldogs, picking up two more victories and extending the team’s undefeated streak to 13 straight games. On Friday, Dukaric made 20 saves in a 6-1 win over St. Lawrence, allowing just one goal through 60 minutes of play. She followed up that performance with a stand-out game on Saturday, recording a season-high 40 saves against Clarkson and earning her eighth clean sheet of the season.

Rookie of the Week

Jane Kuehl (Fr., Princeton) had a busy weekend with five points for the Tigers in their weekend split with Quinnipiac. On Sunday, Kuehl assisted on two of her teammates’ goals and then closed out the first period with her first career goal, putting Princeton up 5-1 over the Bobcats. As if one milestone wasn’t enough, Kuehl added a second in the middle frame and a third goal in the dying minutes of the final period for her first career hat trick.
