Daniells, Foley, Ryan, and Soderwall Claim ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

DANBURY, CONN. – ECAC Hockey has selected the men's weekly award winners for the week ending on March 16th, 2026: Kai Daniells (Jr., Princeton), CJ Foley (Jr. Dartmouth), Caton Ryan (Fr., Cornell), and Shane Soderwall (Jr., Clarkson).

Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week
Kai Daniells (Jr., Princeton) claims Laurel Lake Placid Forward of the Week honors. The British Columbia native was on fire this weekend in Princeton's Quarterfinal sweep over Union. Daniells tallied one assist in Friday's 5-2 win over Union, then netted his second hat trick of the season (including the GWG) and added an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win. The Tigers completed their sweep and earned their spot at Lake Placid, where they will face Cornell on Friday at 7pm.

ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week
CJ Foley (Jr. Dartmouth) has been honored with the ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week award. The Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL) alum was crucial for the Big Green in their quarterfinals sweep over Colgate. Folly tallied three assists on the weekend, two on Friday night and one on Saturday. Both games ended 4-1 in favor of the Big Green, who punched their ticket to Lake Placid and will face Clarkson on Friday at 4 pm.

Rookie of the Week
Caton Ryan (Fr., Cornell) claims Rookie of the Week recognition. The Penticton Vees (BCHL) alum was an asset in Cornell's comeback to beat Harvard in the best-of-three quarterfinal series. After the Friday loss, the Big Red came back strong with Ryan tallying two assists in the 4-0 win on Saturday and one assist in the 5-2 Sunday win to secure their place in Lake Placid. The Cornell Big Red will face the Princeton Tigers on Friday at 7pm.

MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week
Shane Soderwall (Jr., Clarkson) is the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week for the second week in a row. The Illinois native stood on his head this past weekend, taking down top-seeded Quinnipiac. Soderwall went 2-0-0, making 56 saves with one shutout for a 1.50 goals-against-average and.949% save percentage. Clarkson punched their ticket to Lake Placid and will face off against Dartmouth on Friday at 4pm.
