Hayden Stavroff and Ethan Wyttenbach Named Top Ten Finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award

DANBURY, CONN. — Dartmouth’s Hayden Stavroff and Quinnipiac’s Ethan Wyttenbach were named among the top ten finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to college hockey’s top player.

The ten finalists were selected through a combination of voting from all 63 Division I college hockey head coaches and online fan balloting. This year’s Hobey Baker winner will be chosen from this group by the 30-member Selection Committee, with an additional round of fan balloting. To receive this award, the individual must display outstanding skills in all phases of the game, a strong character both on and off the ice, sportsmanship, and scholastic achievements.

A sophomore from Columbus, Ohio, Hayden Stavroff has helped guide his team to Lake Placid for the ECAC Men’s Championship, where the Big Green look to secure their first Conference title. Stavroff leads the nation in goal-scoring (28) and is tied for 6th in points (47), while averaging 1.47 points per game (3rd in the nation). He leads the ECAC in goals and is an All-ECAC First-Team. Hailing from New York, rookie forward Ethan Wyttenbach had an amazing debut season. Named to the All-ECAC First Team and ECAC All-Rookie Team, Wyttenbach leads the country in points (58) and points per game (1.53) while sitting in fourth for goals.

The Three Finalists, also known as the Hobey Hat Trick, will be announced on April 2, and the winner will be announced on Friday, April 10, during the Frozen Four weekend in Las Vegas, NV.
